Avalon Aglow

Ellery is all aglow and ready to dance in her first dancing gig at our Annual Avalon Aglow Christmas Festival in our neighborhood. She performed with 3 other little girls to a song called Christmas Island, a song that Princess Ariel sings! She had so much fun that after watching quite a few other dance numbers, she asked when it was her time to go back up and dance again. She said, " I got to dance on the stage!!!"

It hurts...
ELLERY: Came to me crying.
MOM: "What's wrong, Ellery? Did you get hurt?"
ELLERY: "Yes!" Still crying.
MOM: "What hurts?"
ELLERY: "My feelings!"

Ellery's FIRST Ponytail
Well, Ellery is 3 now and her hair is FINALLY long enough to put into a very small ponytail. Truth be told, I could have done this about 6 months ago, but she would hear nothing of it. After her birth I would constantly put headbands with bows on Ellery so she would always look very girly. I LOVED IT! She, however, stopped allowing this to happen at 1 year old. She would rip the headband out of her head. She has been known to wear some very adorable hats, just for not very long periods of time. BUT, everytime I even have wanted to try a ponytail, she would say in her own 3 year-old way, "NO WAY" and even took it so far as to say "NEVER!"
Well, I really believe in the phrase, "Never say never!", and once again tried to put a ponytail in her hair the other day. I told her she had no choice and could pull it out if she disliked it that much, but only after looking in the mirror. To my absolute delight, she LOVED it and a photo session ensued! It started out just with pictures of the back of her head and turned into a little modeling session of her posing in her new white dress smelling the pink and purple flowers she and I planted on our front porch...it was so fun! I love having a girly-girl! We even got a pedicure together last week (well, I got the pedicure and she and I both had our toenails painted!). Take a look at some of the CUTE PHOTOS I got! She even had so much fun, she asked me to take more pictures of her the next day. Maybe I really can create somewhat of an online scrapbook for her. I LOVE YOU, Ellery!
